Late Fall and Early Winter 2015 (and a little 2016!)

Well I'm back.  It's been a long time.  Let's just say being 7 means being very busy.  I'll try to catch you up on life as I know it!

Andrew and I love eating at Firehouse Subs.  They have grilled cheese and you get a fire hat.  It doesn't get much better than that.

The new HyVee store opened in a nearby town.  One of the highlights is the little green carts for kids.  It is often viewed as a "lowlight" for Mom.

Fun at the park before it got cold!

Doing some computer work in my dance outfit and Anna hat...

We got our team warm up jackets for Pom and it made me feel so special!  Then I asked when Mom was going to make it "sparkly!"

We went to a fall festival in Hudson.  It didn't seem that cold at home.  When we got there, we found out that hanging out in an open field was REALLY CHILLY.  We quickly did activities and were then really glad to get into a nice warm car.  Feeding the animals was my favorite part.

Sliding down the inflatable backwards was also pretty fun!

I enjoyed the pony ride a lot.  Andrew was terrified the whole time.  He didn't cry but he was not happy when the pony started walking.
We went out for lunch afterwards to warm up  This is me wearing my rainbow sweater that my Nana made for me.
This is what I look like when I get my own way at the pumpkin patch....
This is what I look like when I'm annoyed that Andrew wants to be the flower...

Miss Dannette gave us Halloween arts and crafts kits.  They were a lot of fun to put together.

We love going Trick or Treating at Kowalskis!

I was in charge of our class stuffed animal "Mariah the Moose" during Halloween week.  I made sure she had a great and festive week.

One of the lifeguards from the YMCA also works at Kowalskis!  I was surprised when the fairy knew my name! She looks a lot different dry!

Mariah and her moose friends getting some good reading time.

I also went to the dentist and got my first ever X-ray.  They've tried the past few times to do it but I just couldn't keep the bite wings in place.  But this time... success!!  And no cavities!  Mom was really proud of me because I was really brave and that made Andrew brave and he got his teeth checked and cleaned.  It was his first official cleaning and he did great.

We got to wear costumes to Pom class but mom thought my Anna costume would be hard to dance in so I was a 50's girl instead.

Mariah got to come to Pom too!

Our last outing with Mariah was to one of our favorite restaurants known affectionately as the "tractor restaurant".  That's not it's real name but it is what we call it.

Moose friends and carved pumpkins

 Trick or Treat time!

I love Culvers!  This spring we are going to get one in our town really close to our house. I'm so excited!
Dad joined me at school for our annual Veterans Day program.  I WAS SO PROUD to have a dad that is a veteran.  This is Dad introducing himself at the program.

After the program he came to my class and did a presentation about submarines.  Everyone was really fascinated by Daddy's talk.  He did a really good job.  And he said my class was really well behaved.

Holding baby Lincoln!  He's the newest member of our church small group!

Mom spent a weekend bedazzling my Pom jacket.  It now sparkles and shines.

I LOVE MY POM JACKET

At Thanksgiving I put together a family variety show of sorts.  If your name got picked out of a hat then you had to come sing a duet with me and wear a silly hat.
Trying on my dance costume.  It's pink but the sequins sparkle and look sort of purple.  It's pretty amazing!

Dad took Andrew and I to Chuck E Cheese one Saturday.  I used my mad soccer skills to play this game.

We went on a train ride to the North Pole.  This is Andrew and me with the engineer.

All aboard the North Pole Express!

At the North Pole, Santa came on board and greeted all of us.

 Writing a letter to Santa.
We let him know what we wanted for Christmas.  I wanted an American Girl Doll and Andrew wanted a Daniel Tiger play set.
Andrew had his first Christmas dance show.  I'm too old for the Christmas show so I just cheered on my little brother! He did great. I was so proud.

Pom girls Christmas party.  There was an ice cream sundae bar.  Pretty much perfection!

Author Share Day at school was also my BIRTHDAY!  Dad and Mom came and had lunch with me.  Mom got a babysitter for Andrew.  Dad had to go to an appointment so he couldn't stay for author share but Mom did.  I wrote a short book about my first wiggly tooth.

Every 7 year old wants luggage for Christmas right?  I have been wanting my very own purple suitcase for a long time!!  I was so thrilled to get it.

Ready to open my present from Santa....

Yay!  I got what I wanted...  Grace, the Girl of the Year!

We finally got to play in the snow.  Dad took Andrew and I for a "spin" around the neighborhood.

Dad's hard work of clearing all the brush off of our hill paid off.  It makes a perfect little sledding hill for little people!

For New Year's we went to Wisconsin Dells and stayed at the Great Wolf Lodge.  We had a fantastic time.  For New Years Eve they had a special buffet.  The kids buffet was pretty good (mac and cheese,  mini corn dogs, chicken strips) but the BEST part was the dessert buffet complete with a chocolate fountain.  It was divine.
After dinner it was time to PARTY! Fun DJ, hats, and noise makers!

One last trip to the water park before going home!

The lily pads are always fun.

Our last stop in the Dells before heading home is always Buffalo Phil's.  When you go on New Year's Day right at 11:00 opening, they aren't very busy.  Andrew and I got to learn how they run the train that delivers your food and drink!  They even let us pick out toys to go on the train.

After our New Years trip it was time for my friends birthday party.  I wanted it at the bakery and they don't do December parties because they are way too busy with Christmas baking.  So I had my party January 2!

First we had a decorating lesson

I got to pick all of the colors.  My cake looked a lot like my sweatshirt!

The finished cake!

We had lunch and then had a tour of the bakery.  This was the big oven where they bake cake and cookies and pie!

Then it was time to decorate our own mini cakes!

We learned you should always have a top border and a bottom border

The finished product!!

Time for presents!

I was a little nervous with the sparkler......

Mom and me selfie!

My pretty blue "Frozen" nails.  My friend Ari took me on a nails and cupcakes date to celebrate my birthday since she was out of town for my party.

That's the update on me!Thanks for hanging in there!
